Protesters Set Fire to UDA Offices in Wote as Fuel Price Protests Escalate

Fresh chaos has erupted in Wote after angry protesters reportedly set fire to offices linked to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) during ongoing demonstrations over the sharp rise in fuel prices.

The incident happened just moments ago as nationwide protests and the matatu strike continued spreading across different parts of the country. Videos and photos circulating online showed flames and thick smoke rising from the offices as crowds gathered nearby chanting anti-government slogans.

Witnesses say tensions in Wote escalated after protesters marched through the town protesting the increasing cost of living, with many accusing the government of failing to address rising fuel and electricity prices.

Police have reportedly been deployed to the area as authorities attempt to contain the situation and prevent further destruction of property.

The unrest in Wote comes as demonstrations continue to intensify in several towns across Kenya, including parts of Nairobi, Roysambu, Ruiru, and Nakuru, where protesters have blocked roads, burned tires, and clashed with police throughout the day.

Transport remains heavily disrupted in many areas after matatu operators joined the nationwide strike over fuel prices, leaving thousands of commuters stranded.
