Residents of Ntana Village in Nyangwekoa Sub-location, Ekerenyo Sub-county, are mourning after a tragic incident claimed the life of a Form Three student from Mwongoli High School during her grandfather’s funeral vigil.

According to reports, the student had travelled home from school with permission from her mother to attend the burial ceremony. The incident is said to have happened at around 1 a.m. while mourners were gathered for the overnight vigil.

Sources indicate that the student had met with her boyfriend during the event before a confrontation occurred between the two. The situation later turned tragic, leading to the student’s death.

Reports further state that the boyfriend was later found dead at his home hours after the incident, deepening the sorrow within the community.
