“Confirm” Gang Members Arrested in Nakuru West

Police in Nakuru County have arrested two suspected members of the notorious “Confirm” gang in an operation aimed at curbing rising insecurity in Nakuru West.

Officers from Rhonda Police Station acted on a tip-off from members of the public, launching a targeted crackdown that led to the arrest of John Omondi, also known as Daddy, and Samuel Kamau, alias Pino. The two were reportedly apprehended while allegedly robbing and intimidating residents.

According to police reports, the suspects have been on the radar of law enforcement agencies for some time, having repeatedly evaded arrest despite being linked to a series of violent incidents in the area. Their capture is being viewed as a significant breakthrough in efforts to dismantle the gang’s operations.

Investigators believe the duo are key operatives within the Confirm gang, a criminal network accused of terrorising communities across Nakuru West through robbery and violent attacks. Preliminary findings suggest that Omondi and Kamau may also be connected to more serious offences, including murder and robbery with violence charges that carry severe penalties under Kenyan law.

The two suspects have now joined an alleged accomplice, James Nduati, also known as Jemu, who is already in police custody. Authorities say the trio is assisting detectives with ongoing investigations as officers work to build a strong case ahead of prosecution.

Police have indicated that the arrests are part of a broader strategy to restore order in Nakuru West, an area that has experienced heightened criminal activity in recent months. Residents have frequently raised concerns over gang-related incidents, calling for increased patrols and swift action against offenders.

Law enforcement officials have assured the public that more operations are underway to track down other suspected members of the Confirm gang. They have also urged residents to continue cooperating with authorities by sharing information that could help prevent crime.

If formally charged and convicted, the suspects could face lengthy prison sentences, particularly if found guilty of robbery with violence or murder. The case is expected to proceed once investigations are complete and sufficient evidence is presented in court.

The arrests mark a step forward in the fight against organised crime in Nakuru, though police acknowledge that sustained efforts will be necessary to fully dismantle the network and ensure long-term safety for residents.
