Coaching Career Across Continents

Born in Turkey, Engin Fırat built a diverse coaching career that spanned Europe, Asia, and Africa. Over the years, he worked with both club sides and national teams, gaining a reputation as a tactically disciplined and experienced manager.

Before his death, he had taken up a role with Lebanese football club Nejmeh SC earlier in 2026. His coaching journey also included previous roles in countries such as Iran and Moldova, where he served in various technical capacities.

During his tenure, he worked to rebuild the squad and integrate both locally based and foreign-based Kenyan players. Although the team did not secure qualification for major international tournaments under his leadership, he was credited with stabilizing the team during a difficult period.

He resigned from his position in December 2024 after serving for approximately three years.
